My quit date was January 15th started Champix on January 1st, we get Champix very cheap in Uk on perscription. Stopped the champix on 31st March cut the dose down graudually from 8 weeks. Still bringing up copious amounts of green phlegm and this week have started wheezing, is this normal? Shouldn't I be feeling better by now? I was on 40 a day for 20 years

if these are new symptoms, i'd talk to your doctor about them, BOOO - it seems unlikely to me that they'd be a normal side-effect of quitting if you haven't smoked in 3 months, but i'm not sure what all the side-effects of cha(mp/nt)ix are...

Hey Booo,
I say let the doctor check you out. You might need medicine.

Well went to the doctors today and been put on a strong antibiotic Doxycycline and a steroid Prednisolone, he said my lungs sounded like badpipes, that even after quitting for 3 months says I'm wheezing all over my chest.

imagine what you'd sound like if you hadn't quit and were still inhaling all those nasty things in cigarette smoke...healing takes time....keep that beautiful 3 month quit going!! You are doing great!

Glad you got some medicine. Mary's right in that it takes time to heal. I have to keep telling myself the same thing. Careful coming off the steroid (not too fast- & follow doc's orders). Side effects can make you think you're crazy. But, that is the med that helps me the most. I call them the "eating pills" because they make you so hungry.
