Realised that as of today it is 2 years since I last smoked.
No blips, slips, puffs just no smokes. I don't recall the exact age when I started smoking but it was about 19 so I have now definitely been a non smoker for more of my of my life than I was a smoker.
In the last 2 years I have,
- Put on weight
- Lost that weight
- Gained my martial arts black belt (a mixed style art)
- Started cycling
I am now healthier and more in control of my life. I get the occasional nostalgic urge to have a smoke but its easily shrugged off.
I know only too well 1 puff leads to a whole cigarette, which leads to one every so often, which leads to a pack every so often which leads to one pack every day. I don't want to trade my health and freedom for that drug dependency ever again.
It is my choice and "I don't smoke" means just that, not one puff ever. _________________
