unless you live in the eastern time zone (US), the times listed in various places on the board won't be right for you; this is because the default setting for the system is to report time in eastern standard time (EST).
to make the system display the proper time where you live, go to your profile, scroll down almost to the bottom, and find the pull-down menu labeled "Timezone:"; with this pull-down, you can select the proper "offset" (from Greenwich Mean Time) for your time zone.
for example, if you live on the west coast of the united states: pacific standard time is 8 hours behind GMT, so you'd pick "GMT - 8 Hours" from the Timezone pulldown menu. if you live in tokyo, you'd choose "GMT + 9 Hours", and so on.
once you've chosen your offset, click "Submit" at the bottom of the page, and the board will display all times in your time zone whenever you're logged in.
(btw: if you're in a place where daylight savings time is observed, whenever it's in effect you'll have to add the hour yourself; the board isn't set up to automatically calculate this.) |
