We are all beautiful quitters.....thankfully we all have each other.
Name some advice that you have received that has helped you in your quit...
Take it one day at a time.......and don't look back!!! Early on in my quit I was so anxious all the time and drove myself up the wall trying to look so far forward into my quit....days and weeks ahead. Wondering what it would be like........One day at a time...........that's what it takes. |

The crave will pass whether you smoke or not.
Can I have more than one. Second would be, I'm sorry I just quit smoking. _________________

Hi Mindy, I am having trouble keeping it to one piece of advice, because at different times it was different things. How about: "Breathe", this was a good one because I found I was holding my breath sometimes, as well as "Hold on, gal" reminded me of something my Granny would say and that got me through a tough spot that day, also ". . . take breaks. ." reminded me to stop and take care of ME.
I hope you don't mind three pieces of advice. I could go on and on, because there so were many other things I could name, but I won't! _________________

That is the one peice of advice that keep me going and told me yes I can
Three months, four days, 2 hours, 55 minutes and 35 seconds. 3804 cigarettes not smoked, saving $656.34. Life saved: 1 week, 6 days, 5 hours, 0 minutes. _________________

Believe in yourself!
And don't forget rewards, even if it's just a pat on the back. For the first few months I lit a candle for every day I'd been quit (no, I didn't set the house on fire but it was bright!) and I literally pat myself on the back.
Get lots of hugs.
And remember the power of chocolate.
(Sorry I named more than one.) _________________

there's no such thing as an irresistible urge to smoke.
just don't smoke today, and tomorrow will take care of itself.
choose life!

Never stand when you can sit, never sit when you can lie down, never miss a chance to pee, never ever trust a fart.
Oh, wait, that's advice for OLD people like me. Never mind.

Several of the ones that helped me the most have already been mentioned.
One day at a time was and is very important for me. Basically the same as Kevin"s "just don't smoke today, and tomorrow will take care of itself."
Another is "we are here for you" in all the many versions each person uses in their posts. Knowing I have the suport of others who understand is a big part of my quit. _________________
