Hi,
I haven't been on the boards for a while, but am in day 9 of my quit and doing really well.
I have found that walking and swimming almost every day has really helped my quit. It makes me feel so great to do these things. And, I am no great super athlete, by any means. I am just the opposite.
I walk on and off, but now,. I walk 6 days a week. Swimming will be 6 days now that I have joined a club with a pool that has longer hours than the Y.
I will use both places.
My reward at the end of a day with no smoking has been to go swimming at night.
My reward to myself at the end of the first week was to sign up for a membership at this new place with a pool and longer hours.
I will be going there to swim this afternoon, for the first time. They have a sauna and a steam room and a whirlpool, which the Y doesn't have, so I am really psyched.
Hope that everyone is doing well.
Try some exercise---it makes you feel great about yourself, and just feels good. Remember---if I can do it, anyone can do it. I only know how to do the side stroke on the left side and the dog paddle!!!!!! I only swim 4 laps, with breaks---see? Anyone can do this!!!!

Dear Ellen,
So good to hear from you. I agree that exercise makes one feel good. I've been using my treadmill pretty regularly but don't have access to a swimming pool. Keep up the good work. _________________

Ellen~
That is wonderful and your attitude is so superb!
I want to reward myself (sometime in the next year) with a personal trainer to help me work smarter instead of the harder that I am currently doing.
Thanks for inspiring!
