God bless you all and all of your support or my children might have had to pray that prayer. Thank you all so much. Man- can't stop crying after that one. |

I cant tell you how many times my own child has asked me to quit. Boy, this is heartbreaking. Sometimes I wonder if I've already done too much damage to heal my body, and it is going to catch up with me regardless of what i do. Of course it has only been 12 days, but...
Thanks for sharing this. Sorta reinforces one of the many reasons we should all quit.

I know that this is an old post but I just found it. This is exactly the reason I quit. I saw a sign at Union Station that read, "Smoking takes seven years off your life. What have you done in the last seven years?" I have three kids ages 7 and under. Kerry |

Time and time again we read things that are like this that hit us right at home. My wife passed away after an 8 year battle with cancer. She had never stopped smoking after the first surgery. When it all came back again we had a huge argument about her smoking. Little did I know that within a very short year she would be gone and I would be wondering why. Reading this only makes me understand the want and need to stay quit. It has been a temptation since her death and these boards just go to show how much we all need to remind ourselves just how important we are to our loved ones. _________________

Thanks for posting Carol. I just saw this. I have used a whole roll of tissues. I would never want my child to pray this prayer for me.

My mother died 17 years ago and smoking was the main cause of her death. My oldest child was barely 1 year old. My mother never saw any of my children. She was never here when I needed her and I have been so angry at her. At times, I have even hated her. I won't do that to my kids--I will never smoke again. _________________
