I couldn't help but notice my co-workers huddled up outside today smoking. I wondered how unproductive it was, then though about my 35 years of smoking and decided to do the math.
If one cigarette takes an average of 7 minutes to smoke, as a pack a day smoker I calculated the following:
20 cigs x 7 min = 140 minutes per day
140 minutes x 365 days= 51,100 minutes per year
51100 min per year x 35 yrs= 1,788,500 minutes over 35 years
1,788,500 minutes / 60 minutes =29,808 hours
29,808 hrs / 24 = 1,242 days
1,242 days / 365 = 3.4 years
So, in order to simulate the amount of cigarettes smoked in my lifetime, I would have to continuously inhale for 3.4 years
The good news is that I calculated that I would only have to continuously inhale for 3 months to simulate the amount of pot smoked
