I sincerely hope everyone is well...I just feel like I haven't had nearly as much time lately as I did in the beginning of my quit to read and respond to all the posts, but I'm doing my best. I know you all understand and can relate.
I just wanted to tell anyone who was interested that my fiancee found me one of the neatest things I think I've ever seen...
I've been trying to exercise for my mental health and that's been going pretty well. I'm pretty good at getting on my bike or running/walking on the treadmill for at least 4 out of 7 days and that helps my mental state.
However, I have reached my 3 month mark and am now ready to tackle the weight issue. I can't really afford a gym membership and working out at home has been a bit of a struggle...just hard to motivate, especially when it's cold outside and gets dark shortly after I get home from work...
Oh my, I am windy, aren't I? Get to the point already!
If any of you have an XBox or your kids have an XBox, I highly recommend getting this new 'game' called YOURSELF FITNESS. It is amazing! It's really like having a personal trainer.
You set up your profile by taking getting a baseline - heart rate after two minutes of jumping jacks (if you can't do two minutes! I couldn't! ), how many pushups you can do, how many squats, etc...
It then asks you what your goals are for exercise - weight loss, cardio, upper or lower body strength, etc... It gives you it's recommendation after you enter your baseline info, but you ultimately decide what your goals are.
There's a calender to set up your workouts, there are different scenes, music, and you can increase or decrease the intensity. As you progess you "earn" more music and scenery alternatives. It is SO incredibly personalized that I find this very amazing!
It also can give you daily menu suggestions, with recipes! And the variety surprised me. The makers teamed up with Prevention Magazine and AllRecipes.com for some things.
Right now it's only on XBox, but I wouldn't be surprised if it became available for PC use because an XBox is basically a PC without all the bells and whistle of your desktop.
So there you have it...I'm very excited about this. So far I've really enjoyed it . I sound like I'm a spokesperson for XBox, but seriously, I am NOT getting a kickback from Microsoft!!
Have a good day everyone!
Kris

Hi - How nifty is that! I will definitely have one when it becomes available for PS2. Thanks for the heads up. I will be watching for this. Barb (The Crave-inator) |

This sounds so neat. My son (19 yoa) just stayed up all night long playing the new x-box game that came out this week. I think this would be a great gift for him to give his Mom for Christmas. What do you think? _________________

Thanks Tonya for answering Ms. Kay I seem to be having S...L...O...W...response time!
Yes, Ms. Kay, It's a gaming system, like Sony Playstation, Nintendo, etc...I unfortunately have to know about these things because my honey is a techno geek! He is constantly trying to explain things to me, to which I reply...don't tell me how it works, just show me where the ON button is! And only if turning the darn thing on only requires a maximum 3 steps
