The noble fir Christmas tree that we have selected to go in our house this year was specially grown along side our driveway, in our yard and it is time to take it out. I have been pruning it for several years and actually wanted to cut it a couple of years ago, but I submitted to the pressures to leave it stand yet another year. Well, now it is getting to big for the house so we will have to cut some off of both ends of.
It is just the right tree for a special year. On Saturday, the 11th, I will cut the tree from the yard and put it in our house. Hopefully it is not raining and the tree can go directly into the house and not stand it the car port for a few hours to drip dry. That day will mark 366 days of smoke free for me. On a normal year it would have been 365 days, but this was no normal year, not by any stretch of the imagination. A year to remember indeed.
One year!! What a wonderful way to mark such a Grande occasion, putting up the Christmas tree.
One year of breathing free!! I will remember this year for the rest of my life. I will remember December 11th, the rest of my life. I will celebrate that day, every year, for the rest of my “BREATH TAKING LIFE”.
Yall have a wonderful day now, ya hear!
God Bless

Ken,
You were always one that I knew would make it. You, too, have gone through a trying year but through it all you have maintained grace and determination. A lesser man might have let his troubles become and excuse for feeding the demon but you were strong and that is no small feat. Congratulations on a spectacular event. Enjoy your tree, your Christmas and the love and support of you family this first holiday of your new life. From the sound of it the smell of your freedom is sweet and evergreen.
You done good Kenny! _________________
