I keep meaning to post this info and get so caught up in reading and responding to everyone's posts that I space it off... Smile

Anyway, as some of you may know, this weight thing is getting to me and I have been experimenting with adapting the FFS program to weight management...a bit complicated as there are so many factors you could look at with weight management...not as 'simple' as putting down the cigs (I hope you all realize that the 'simple' comment was a joke! Wink)

But in the process of doing some self-educating and research I have discovered a few websites that may be of interest to others who are also working on revamping their diets and adding physical exercise...

The Dept of HHS and The US Dept of Agriculture have updated the Dietary Guidelines for Americans...

Then there is this website where you can keep track of your daily eating...

www.fitday.com

And finally, WebMD has some discussion boards for weight loss. Keep in mind they aren't nearly as user-friendly as Kevin's site here, but I have found some good information on the site.

This has been much more complicated that I realized...but I think I'm beginning to get it...it is reminding me of when I first began the quitting smoking process. So perhaps this is doable Smile

Thanks for the info!

If you succeed half as well as you have with quitting....then you'll slim down in no time. Very Happy Weight management and diet is a major issue with so many...( Embarassed yep, the rear and hips! embarassing) But once you get a handle on it, it'll be one of the great lifestyle changes...just like quitting.

Seems like quitting opens up a WHOLE new perspective on all areas of life. Isn't it just wonderful!!!! You'll be great with this!!!! Way to go!

Dear Kris,

I've been using fitday.com for about 2 weeks now and really like it. It's a great way to keep a record of all I've eaten and my daily activity. I believe you first posted this site some time ago.
