I saw this the other day....it made me stop and think - I don't have kids - but if you do and you're still struggling to quit or stay quit - maybe this will help...this was someone's daily quit mantra:
"You think quitting is hard, try telling your kids you have cancer."
I was on the receiving end of that terrible message almost 15 years ago. It was not what I wanted my dad to tell me over the phone when I was an ocean away in Germany. He had given up cigarettes when he got married and started a family at 40 - but he switched to smoking a pipe. It was still tobacco and it still caused lung cancer that killed him at 74. I still miss him. I will continue to cherish my freedom and choose LIFE! _________________

Mary Dude~
First, I am sorry to hear about your father. But, thank you for sharing that testamonial to the destructive power of all tobacco use!
I love that mantra! "My boys", meaning my husband and my precious nephews are second on my top five reasons for quiting.
Great quote!!!! _________________

Mary,
Thank you for the post,
It does cause one to pause and think.
It sure is not easy to lose a loved one to this deadly addiction, so I feel sorrow for your loss,
Thank you again for sharing,

Mary, I too lost my dad to lung cancer. He was only 62. I feel for you and know exactly what you're feeling. We MUST keep our quits going. Lung cancer sure isn't the way I wish to leave this world. _________________
