Well I just got the results from my check up at the DRs. The paps was normal. Wahoo. No cancer. Seeing as it runs in the family that is a major relief.

I had the Upper GI yesterday. YUK hope I don't have to do that any time soon again. It was nasty. The stuff they give you to drink really tastes nasty and it upset my stomach all day long. I am better today but am glad it is over.

Next mountain(molehill) that I have to get over is the mamogram Another one of those nasty tests they order for us ladies that is nasty and I am willing to bet thought up by a man. Otherwise how could anyone get pleasure from having a part of their anatomy stuck on a piece of flat glass and squeezed until flat. I know I for one am not looking forward to that. Sorry guys but you really should take that one part of your anatomy and have it done. It is so great Shocked Very Happy Laughing

Nope just being a smart aleck here. I know that you don't need this and have other yucky tests you have to go through so sorry if I offended.

On a brighter note my 10 month lunaversary is coming up and I am still smoke free and the dr says lungs are CLEAR no wheezing or rattles in my lungs and I feel better than I have in years..

Also am seeing a psychologist for the depression and the dr put me on lexapro and it seems to be working just fine. Saw the psychologist the first time yesterday and he said he thinks my depression is related to life not problem with neurons in my brain and he wants to talk with me further. Finally someone who will help and listen to me. At least that is the way it seems. Also another plus is he does beleive there is a god and he feels that every gives god a bad rap saying that he will not let us into heaven with some of the things we do. He thinks god is a god of love and forgiveness and I do agree so very much.

I think maybe just maybe there is hope after all. I know there is for the smoking quiting was my hope and now I think that I may actually have a life again.

At least that is what my brain is saying. The rest of me is just hovering on the brink waiting to see. Usually when I feel this good the world gets shot out from under me.

I know I am rambling and this is the wrong place to do that but hey I am getting to "continue The journey to wellness" and this is the forum for that.

Heres Leona shutting up now Very Happy Shocked

Leona - I'm glad the tests are fine so far! Get through the mammogram and you'll be good to go! For at least another year! There are so many things we just HAVE TO DO to take care of ourselves! Rolling Eyes
It sounds like you have found the right psychologist..."talk-therapy" can be very beneficial! Where the is HOPE there is life!!!!

Hi, Leona. So glad to hear all the good news. Sounds like things are really looking up. As for apologizing for rambling here -- where else would you feel comfortable rambling? We've all had our turns at it and believe me, it helps a lot to know there are so many who really care.

Keep things on the positive side and work with this new psychologist. He/she sounds fantastic.

Leona, thanks for the up date. I'm glad you are passing your tests with flying colors. Mamograms are a hoot. Wouldn't miss them for the world! Shocked Laughing

So glad the tests are coming back clean and clear! Because of my breast cancer scare last summer, I was the first of my girl friends to get a mammo ~ so I don't complain. I don't want any of them to not get it because of something I said. Rolling Eyes Wink

Sending you good thoughts! Cool

I'm SO happy for you Leona Smile Things seem to be going really well. I'm so glad you found a psychologist who you 'click' with ~ that will help alot. I hear Lexapro works well. And don't worry about the mammogram ~ I was terrified the first time, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I just kept my head turned otherwise i may have passed out! Laughing
