i have decided on my first big "reward" for myself. my birthday is one week from tomorrow and instead of spending the money i get from my family on bills (because there was NEVER enough money for bills before, and that's where any birthday/xmas money has gone for the last few years) i am going to spend it on myself. specifically, i'm going to add it to the money that i have saved by not smoking and i am buying an ipod mini. it's giving me motivation to get through my birthday (and the bars) smokefree. because of course, if i don't get through it, i'll be right back to spending all that gift money on bills! ugh!

Jenny,
Happy Birthday!!!!
Good for you for saving that money. Feels good to save it instead of spend it on bills. I know, it's so nice to have the extra money instead of it literally going up in smoke!!!
Love your new avatar...IT"S YOU!!!!

This is one of the great benefits to not smoking...the money we are saving.. And yes it is very important to reward our achievements. Treat yourself.

Hi Jenny,
Happy Birthday ahead of time. Also, you came up with an excellent reward.

unfortunately i am nowhere near celebrating a year. it's not even a one month reward. just a happy birthday and reward for getting through celebrating my birthday and st paddy's day smokefree. i'll be drinking for both occassions! i used to have my quit date listed, i think i lost it while i was trying to get my picture for an avatar. i'll have to fix that. and yes, that is me. i finally figured out how to do it. the picture is from New years eve, in case the tiara didn't give it away. the ipod i've actually been thinking about getting for a while. i was going to buy it with tax return money but instead i am using that money to pay for my GMAT test and start applying to grad school. the birthday money won't be enough for the ipod, but i've already saved a bunch not buying cigs!
happy st paddy's day!
