Sorry, there wasn't time to let you know that I was going. Was at ER on Monday, but they didn't keep me. Then Wed a.m. attacks of abdominal pain too hard to bear. Doctor checked me into hospital for tests, etc. Have been on pain meds. Adomianl pain cause by "plumbing problem" Embarassed in the form of constipation so severe, there was no movement at all. Shocked At first I felt very embarassed, but I don't anymore now, because if it took the hospital personel 2 days to figure out how to "fix" it (nothing they tried was working) then how could I have done it alone? I have come home loaded with various pills and potions from the docs. I told them that I thought what caused it was the sudden change to all veggies and fruits and high fiber food that I did a few weeks ago, but they insist this is a good diet and not to change it, especially in view of the Migraine "tyramine" diet that I am already on, which prohibits many such things as yogart, nuts, etc.

I am just to try this diet plus the pills they gave me, and go back, if further problems occurr.

The hernia is to be dealt with separately through a general surgeon. I have an appointment for a consult next Wednesday.

I was on Anxieity Med the whole time to prevent Panic attacks.

I'm not sorry that this problem was taken care of at a hospital (although I will be if anything goes wrong with the billing!! Wink )--because I don't believe my doc understood the seriuosness of it, and a mere office consult with instructions to me, even if I could have followed them, would not have been enough at that point.

My doc was very good at getting me into the hospital fast, however, and getting pain medication for me fast, and getting the stomach specialists to see me fast! So I was grateful for getting help quickly once the severity of the matter was clear to my doc.

Hope everyone is well and has a Happy week-end. Casey spent the last 3 nights with his friends at the Kennel (and boy, this time, he did not want to go!)...but I will pck him up tomorow. Very Happy

Very sleepy now. Got to sleep.

Only 1 cig urge--and that was this a.m.--when I had another attack, although I was already preparing to check out--turned out to be nothing so they still let me go.

Boy was I glad I don't smoke! I don't think I could have stood any more stress!

Marw, with all the medications you have had to take, do they think that maybe this had something to do with the "plumbing"? I am glad you are out and hopefully feeling better now.

Sad Margaret,

I'm sorry you had and have to go through so much. Please be sure to drink plenty of fluids while the plumbing gets straight. You don't want to become dehydrated.

Blessings,

Thanks Kay and Barbara for your replies. Actually I'm not any better, as it turns out, and I may post that above. Kay, I don't know if the meds have anything to do with it; it seems like it hurts all the time. And I will, Barbara, keep those fluids going! Good idea.

Love,
