I woke up this morning with a throat sore and swollen and can barely swallow or talk so I have made an appointment with the dr to find out what it is and to get some meds for it. I suspect it is my sinuses but....

And am I ever glad I don't smoke can you imagine how this would feel if I did. It would have me screaming down the road with pain as the addiction would take hold and I would smoke Shocked Confused Thank heavens I am now a non smoker WAHOOO Very Happy Very Happy

Hope you feel better soon! Sorry you are sick! Crying or Very sad

Odd that you should post this today. I woke up this morning and had several sores in my mouth. As I was feeling them, I remembered how several years ago I convinced myself I had mouth cancer and went to the doctor. I was so joyful this morning when I realized I didn't immediately suspect a deadly illness from smoking.

Sending you some virtual chicken soup!!!! Cool

Sure was smart of you to call the doc right away. Might as well begin taking something as soon as possible. Hope you're feeling better fast.

alleghany Dr said it was similar to larangytis which usually goes on its own but gave some stuff to take and a antibiotic if it doesn't clear up over the weekend to start taking monday. It is called pharangitis and he also suspects sinus and allergys. It is that time of year for me the goldenrod is in bloom and it always causes me hayfever problems. I love the look of it but it sure does a number on me.

Jo I thought It would be better then suffering through the weekend and maybe having it get worse. I feel like doo doo right now but hope it will clear up soon.

Leona and Allegany,

Bless your hearts!!! Get better quick...Leona..try honey for the sore throat. It takes quite a bit of it. But it helps to soothe and hey, it's a natural antibotic too! Wink

Allegany...you might try a saltwater rinse and gargle for the sores. Not very tasty, but the salt helps healing.

Soothing teas for both of you...gosh girls if you wanted a day off..you should have just asked!! Shocked Laughing Laughing Laughing

Warm Huggy Hugs

Very Happy Hi Leona,

I hope you have a good trip and that soon you will feel back to normal soon. I am allergic to ragweed and cat. It is now ragweed season here and we have a cat so I have been having a terrible time with allergies for awhile.

Blessings,

Hi Leona,

Sorry to hear you have been sick. I must have missed this somehow. Well, I have been worrying about my thyroid, so didn't think about other throat diseases. I must have what you do, because I have such a bad sore throat for 2 days that I cannot swallow. Have been lying in bed. Had some anti-biotics already here, and took those. Maybe I will go to the doc also.

Be careful on that trip. That sounds like a lot for being sick.

Hope you are better soon (and me, too.) THank goodness, we don't smoke is right.

GEt well soon.

I am back from my trip to my sons. I feel better physically today maybe because we now have power back on and I can use my cpap machine and with the decongestents that the dr prescribed along with the claritin for allergys my throat is coming back to normal. Still have a somewhat stuffy nose and headache but am hopeing that this will pass soon.

Emotionally I am a wreck. What I found at my son's made me wonder if the pod people had not taken him over. I was shocked and disgusted. I stayed anyway because I really did want to see my son.

What I found was 3 people living in an apartment that was about the size of my kitchen 8/10,livingroom 8/10, and woodroom where we have the wood stove 8/10 so you see it was very very small for that many people to be in. It was crammed with all their stuff in every part of the house and it was very cluttered could not move without stepping over or around something. It had not been cleaned in quite a while if ever. And the young fellow who was one of the 3 of them staying there collected pornographic stuff and my son and his wife both thought there was nothing wrong with this. They did not offer a drink or food or anything to us while we were there. And the language coming out of their mouths just astounded me. And the sexual talk was something I could not beleive. My son had not been raised like this and I feel he has gotten into a marriage that will be the death or at least jail of him. He has admited tome that he often goes without sleep to work over time at what ever comes along to provide extra money for them. Now my son makes 9/41 an hour and his wife works too at least minumum wage for 20-40 hours a week and they cannont make ends met. To me something is very strange there.

I ache to think that he has come to this. It is only part of what I saw and heard there but it makes my heart break and my emotions scream out to save him which I know I cannot do. He has to make his own mistakes and I have to watch him do this. Oh God Help me it tears me apart to see this.

I had to also take all my clothing off and take a bath when I got home They all smoke and boy did I reak when I got here. I could not stand it. STINKY POO is the word I would use for cigarettes

Hope you're feeling better Leona. It is hard to see those that we love go down the wrong path. you have to have faith that you raised him with the right standards, and I bet he feels almost as sick about his lifestyle as you do. However, it's hard for most people to admit that they have made a mistake, so hold your tongue and hope he finds the way himself.

Too bad they are so addicted, as quitting would put a whole lot of extra money in their pockets, as you know.

You stay well, lady, and keep that quit going!
