Keeping open is a good thing. Also sometimes we set ourselves up for failure - in ways we don't even recognize overtly.
Remember - change is good.....and witches don't float, either! We've got ways to take care of these types....

So your boss saw it for what it was and actually reached out to support and encourage you. That is great, Alleghany.
Trying something that does not work out is not always failure. Often, there is as much success in finding what doesn't work as there is in finding what does. You tried, that's all anyone (including you) can ask for.

Thank you essie, shevie and Pamela. I told my husband today that the support here has truly helped me get through this.
I honestly believe it was the obligation to this community (and ffs) that kept me from picking up one* of his packs and having a smoke. That and the AWFUL smell!
* By one I mean, one of several packs he had in his car. I had forgotten about the "hording ~ just in case" syndrome.
Thank you for all the support and understanding! _________________

I'm sorry you had such a bad day. I hope you are back to feeling steady soon. I wish I could 'do' something to help, instead of just offer words.

Alleghany,
I'm sorry I'm late reading this. I'm sorry to hear about the bad thing at work but like Melody said, you still have your quit.
Hugs to you. _________________

Thank you Barbara and Kay. Actually, I am beginning to see why this happened. Some very interesting opportunities have been put in my life since a few weeks ago. God works in mysterious ways..... _________________
