Barbara's plan to provide gifts to nursing home residents this Christmas is quite inspirational to me. I've noticed that this is the time of year that folks are really in a giving mood and I've been thinking that it's a really good idea to reach beyond ourselves as an antidote for the holiday blues and stresses.
Our local newspaper begins its "Caring Connection" next week, during which they run stories of people who need help. There is also a blanket drive sponsored by the newspaper, food drives all over the place. It's hard to decide where to put your resources or energies, but I challenge each of you to pick one way that you can make someone's life a little cheerier during the holidays. Focus on this and you will be bettering yourself immeasurably!
