My body doesnt seem to be doing quite what I thought it would...
It doesnt seem right, but since quitting I feel like I cant breathe in as much air. It was especially noticable at the gym - I seemed to be getting less oxygen than in my smokey days!?!?! Deep breaths dont seem to be reaching as deep!?!
And, toilet wise - I also seem to be MORE "regular" since quitting, what is my body doing?!?!? This isnt normal is it? (I'm not complaining ! just observing)

It's normal. Your lungs are stressed at the changes and need time to heal. As to the other end well of course your system will react differently as it is used to working at eliminating a massive amount of toxins. You are right on track. _________________

Totally normal. It's uncomfortable now, but just let it do what it's gotta do. The other side of this discomfort is much better.

Hope, be patient. One day soon you're going to take a really deep breath and think "WOW." At least that's how it hit me. I now thoroughly enjoy deep breathing. It's so refreshing. I had forgotten what a pleasure breathing can be. _________________

hope,
dont knock the regularity alas i havent experienced that one LOL our bodies are going thru major changes while trying to heal itself. I remember being frightened during a 10 week quit because i had black sores inside my mouth where my body was releasing the toxins thru my skin. at that time I allowed fear of the unknown, a handful of excuses and a month of discomfort to allow my relapse. Now i am writing down the symptoms so i remind myself what i have to go thru all over again just for one Puff.. Its not worth it !
Ps Hows the gym? I cant wait to feel in that place where im ready for the gym again _________________

The same thing happened to me, my lungs didn't feel right. It passes...I also noticed that when I was running I felt more pressure in my lungs, and that I couldn't breathe deep either. It does pass, I looked at these changes and thought "my body is healing!!", its a great change...the human body is amazing.

oh good.thanks for telling me your experiences.
The lung thing suprised me - you'd think your lungs would be immediately happy with you!
I've also developed a fair few spots. not nice.
Ichooselife - sores in your mouth? Were you sure this was quitting smoking?
I've had mouth ulcers for days now, wonder if that could be linked?
I get obsessed it's cancer...am so glad I have stopped poisoning myself. _________________

I had blood poisoning at the gum line 3 months into my Quit. The Dr. said he felt it was from the toxins coming out. It was terrible and scary but curable. _________________

Hope,
with my last quit, I had multiple canker sores about 3-4 weeks into my quit. They are soooo painful but, this is quite normal. Somewhere there is a link in Kevin's Tales about them.
Try rinsing your mouth with warm salt water several times a day, it really relieves the pain. No pain, no gain........... your body is cleansing itself, give it time and you will be a brand new you.
