I just realized that I passed the mark of 50,000 cigarettes NOT smoked.
And I've saved more than 12 months of lifetime...WOW!
What if I had smoked those???? Don't want to what if it - but I know I would not be in uniform in Iraq and proudly serving my country -
My Quit Date is: Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at 5:30:00 PM
Time Smoke-Free: 1443 days, 12 hours, 29 minutes and 49 seconds
Cigarettes NOT smoked: 50523
Lifetime Saved: 12 months, 25 days, 22 hours
Money Saved: $8,844.50
You don't know if it is possible until you try! _________________

Your Quit Date is: 12/2/2007 9:30:00 PM
Time Smoke-Free: 178 days, 21 hours, 24 minutes and 28 seconds
Cigarettes NOT smoked: 1252
Lifetime Saved: 9 days, 13 hours
Money Saved: $300.72
If I laid 1252 cigarette butts end to end, it would stretch over 100 feet.
If you laid your 50523 cigarette butts end to end, it stretch over 3/4 of a mile. |

Also, if a spent 10 minutes smoking each of my 1252 cigarettes, and I smoked them all back to back, I'd be smoking for over 8 days straight.
For you, at 50523 cigarettes, you'd be smoking for close to a year.
UPDATE:
Maybe that is what they mean by lifetime saved on these quit stat boards. I always thought that was a estimate of how much longer you'd live since you quit, not how long you spend actually smoking. |

actually, statistically speaking, each cigarette you smoke shortens your life expectancy by 11 minutes; they get the life saved number by multiplying cigarettes not smoked by 11 minutes.
i'm happy to say that i'm in my 2,384th day of freedom (that's 6 years, 6 months and 10 days, i think), and that in that time, i've chosen not to smoke 47,680 cigarettes (at least), saving $11,920 (assuming cigarette prices remained constant for the last 6 and a half years) and 364 days and 12 minutes of life (or so)...

So I guess that you save double the time listed. Not only does it take about 10 or 11 minutes to smoke a cigarette, but you also add the same amount to your life expectancy, so you're really get 22 minutes back by not smoking the cigarette.

Math is FUN!
So proud to be free and healing for:
Two months, two weeks, two days, 28 minutes and 45 seconds.
1540 cigarettes not smoked, saving $539.14.
Life saved: 5 days, 8 hours, 20 minutes.
1540 x 11 minutes = 16940 minutes
16940/60 minutes = 282.33 hours
282.33 / 24 hours = 11.76 days
that is a different number than that on my silk quit meter.....
hmmmmm
Math is not so fun now...

I'm so bad at math I'm not even going to try some of the calculations.....
I've been smober for 15 months and 12 days (467 days)
I've not smoked 18,680 cigarettes or 934 packs or 93 cartons (how I use to buy them)
and I've saved $3,269.00.
And, I've probably saved another few hundred in doctor bills since I didn't have constant upper respitory infections this past winter....
