If the board software allows for it, it would be handy if there was an RSS feed from the site to alert to us new threads. |

Hi Nic - I can't really answer your question - but in case you haven't noticied - there is an option to be notified when a new message is added to an existing post - there's a "Watch this topic for replies" in the lower left corner of the screen. There is also a checkbox at the bottom of the "post a reply" screen - so if you reply or start a new topic you can get an email notification when there is a reply.
I'm sure Kevin will have a more definitive response for you... _________________

Many thanks, for implementing it, and so promptly!
It will be very helpful to me in how I use this board and I hope it will also be useful for others.
Regards

you're welcome, nic - turned out there was a mod (short for "modification"; the phpBB community's version of a plugin) i could put in without disturbing all the other modifications i'd already made to the code base, so i went ahead and added it. glad you'll find it useful, and hope others will as well. _________________

It gives an error saying

now, ashish, you know better than to give me such a sparse error message; when does it throw that error? when you click the feed icon in the address bar? when you click the link in the menu? when you're on the "smartfeed_url" page? what were you trying to do? were you logged in or not? what browser were you using? details, please! _________________

Kevin,
Clicking the rss feed link located under the quit smoking support title brings up the message ashooo was talking about. I personally used the rss feed button on my IE browser and it worked fine. Will note to others who aren't familiar with the IE browser....to access the feeds subscribed to click the "star" symbol for favorites. It will then display a menu tab titled "feeds"....and this is where one checks and refreshes the feed.
Personally like it
