I'm not ready to give the full rant. I'm leaving in the morning to catch a flight to see my dad. My dad "beat" lung cancer. He was a smoker for 40+ years. I'm going to see my dad who is no longer my dad. He has a whole new personality courtesy of his bleeding brain tumor, otherwise known as cancer that came back. They have given him 4-6 weeks to live. Let me repeat that. They gave him 4-6 weeks to live. He is 64. He isn't likely to make even 4 weeks. He is the picture of smoking. He was the poster child, and always attractive, until he wasn't. I don't wish his pain on my worst enemy. I'm 35 and I am not ready to lose my dad. I guess I'll say more later, when I've seen more.
Sad

God bless you, Gidget and your Dad too. My Dad was 62 when he died of lung cancer (yes, you would think I would have quit then, right?). I was 33 and, like you, far too young to lose a parent.

My prayers are with you on this journey. Please take care of yourself.

Gidget - so sorry to hear your dad is dying. Lung cancer killed my dad at 74 - I kept smoking for another 15 years. I'll keep you and your dad and your family in my prayers.

Gidget
I am so sorry and my prayers are with you and yours. I am 55 and I still have both of my parents, my Mom is 84 and my Dad just turned 88, they both quit smoking in their early 30's. God bless.

Thank you to everyone and your thoughts and prayers. It means so much to me to hear from you all. We moved my dad to Hospice on Thursday. The sadness is overwhelming. Prayers for comfort and peace are always welcome.
