Is it possible to quit smoking through natural methods, I mean without using those nicotine patch or medications. I don’t have much faith in medications.

Hey! I think it's absolutely possible. I'm doing it myself. It just depends on you, I guess. I'm a white-knuckle kind of guy.

Anyway, it certainly can be done. The craves fade away quicker than you think. Today makes two weeks for me, it gets easier every day.

Yes it is very possible. There are many here at woofmang who have quit "cold turkey." I did after smoking for more than 45 years. I wish you well in your quit. Being free is a wonderful way of life. Smile

absolutely; in fact, more people were successful long-term quitters before nrts and meds became so prevalent. check out some of the sites on my links page; particularly whyquit and freedom from smoking.

welcome to the site! Smile

I know that some people have used NRTs and have actually quit, but I am not a big fan of them. The one thing that you are addicted to is nicotine. The one thing that NRT gives you is nicotine. As a result, it keeps you addicted to the thing that you crave. To me, the quicker you get over the hump, the better. Why prolong the pain? In fact, most people that I know that use NRT use both NRT and cigarettes.

Just my two cents.

I can't speak to other meds because I have never used them.

I'm not using NRTs and I'm doing okay. I smoked around a pack a day for 25 years.

I have used patches in the past and failed miserably.

I think it's all in the attitude you adopt - if you're happy about quitting then it's got to be alot easier than moping about because you think you're missing out on something (which obviously you're not).

I used the patch and quit for 4 years...then picked it up again...I went cold turkey this time. I think it makes all the different. Using NRT's just prolongs the inevitable.

Be free...completely free!

Very Happy

Meds just make it a little easier...cuts downs the cravings!

I mean dont get me wrong all pretty helpful but just have to decide what works for you. If you can't do it cold turkey then try another method but dont give up! Thats #1 rule keep on fighting till your quit, you will have our support!

Good Luck,

Erick
