Hi guys my name is Eric. I started smoking in the year 2000 from peer pressures to be "cool" when I was 14. Now I'm 25 years old and finally taken the plunge to quit with the turn of this decade and get this terrible habit out of my life.
The exact day I quit was on May 31st. So now I'm onto 3rd week beginning today. I choose cold turkey as my method. honestly its not as hard as I first thought to go this many days but I know that there will be a long battle ahead of dealing with unforeseen psychological triggers for smoking. But I know I can take never take another puff.. I've been telling myself that everyday.
Thanks for reading. I'll look forward to reading and posting more on this board.

Hi Eric I'm some 40 days ahead of you in my quit. You're doing so well and you sound very motivated. We absolutely need to kick this habit while we still have a semblance of good health left in us.
Good luck to you and keep checking in. _________________

Congrats to both of you. Always remember, "You're only a puff away from a pack a day." Life as a non-smoker is terrific! _________________

Well thanks guys!
I just wanted to drop and by say I'm still going strong.
Now 3 weeks and 5 days quit. I've had a few moments where I seen a cigarette and wanted one but it was easy to "change the topic in my mind" get over it.
Also was at the doctor for bad abdominal pain since quitting, got told to take Metamucil since I probably have really bad constipation right now from quitting. Getting an ultrasound done too this weak just to check out. But my family doctor was very happy with my decision to quit. |

and lots of water!! Sorry to hear of your discomfort Eric. Not to be punny - but it will pass! But I think it is always a good idea to check with the doctor when there is pain! _________________

I just found something really funny. I apparently quit on No smoking day. Which is a global initiative being advertised every year on may 31st to encourage people to quit tobacco and I didn't even know!
I wonder if its just quittance, or if it was something completely subliminal.
Buts that actually kind of cool. I can tell people I quit on no smoking day.
