I finished the list tonight and went on to post it a few days early because looking at this weekend I see I'll be at work.
I do hope all dates, names, and sign in names are right. Any changes please let me know.
Any one not on the list please let me know.
Stand proud...we are the Freedom Fighters.

a few days ago, Sandy (Fightn4life) posted a message in the suggestions forum, wondering if she should post the FFS "Quitter's List" here. i replied that i had no objection to its being posted here, but i did send Sandy a private message, expressing my concern that it would be very difficult (if not impossible) to verify that all of the people on that list were actually still quit, and i don't think it's right to hold relapsed addicts up as examples to people who are still fighting for their freedom.
on the other hand, i do think that having this kind of list is a good motivator - as long as the list consists of people who have actually been smoke-free continuously since their published quit date - and Sandy came up with the idea of starting a new list for this site. i thought that was a great idea, and suggested that we call it the "Freedom Fighters" list. Sandy liked the name, and agreed to be the keeper of the list.
here are the ground rules:
first, you must be quit at least three full weeks to be added to the list (in other words, if you're on day 22 or higher, you're eligible).
second, if you relapse after being added to the list, you must send a private message to Sandy (or whoever is the keeper of the list at the time), letting her know that you've had a set-back, and asking that your name be removed from the list until such time as you've been quit for at least three weeks again.
to get the Freedom Fighters list started, i'm asking that anyone with at least three weeks of freedom under their belt respond to this thread with your name - as you'd like it to appear on the list - and your quit date.
when we have a quorum, Sandy will post the first edition of the list here in the inspirations forum, and i'll make it a sticky post so it will always be at the top. once that's done, i'll archive this thread, and then, anyone who'd like to be added to the list should send Sandy (or the current keeper of the list) a private message - with their name as they'd like it to appear on the list and their quit date - asking to be added.
Freedom Fighters, stand up and be counted! |

Thank you all for your kind comments about the list. The only problem I have; not enough quitters have signed up to be added to it.
There are 200 & some registered quitters and 41 on the list. It is an indivuale choice if you want to included. I say if you have chose life, stand up and be counted. There is strenght in numbers.
I'll be updating the list around the 11th of each month...
Keep choosing life...
Oh yeah...if anyone has any suggestion to make the list more appealing I am always up for suggestions.

Sandy
I am not here very much any more and therefore just saw your list. It is great. Thank you so much for being the "keeper of the flame". I felt so proud as I read my name and the names of my friends on there. What a miracle we all are.
Thanks again Sandy _________________
