OK, lets ignore all the difficult things about quitting for a while and advertise the great day to day improvements in our lives - things about not smoking that make us happy.
Some of these things we might not have thought about until having stopped smoking, and some might sound daft, but make us happy ....I'll start, lets build a big list:

* Being able to take a teeny weeny dainty handbag out with me when I go out for an evening - no need to try and squeeze a big pack of marlboros and a lighter in there anymore!

great post, also to add to the list you can go to a party, and not worry about what you going to do if you run out of cigs, you don't have to scope people out and ask them if you can bum 1 2 3 4... cigs from them. If you go to New your or one of those states that ban smoking in public places you dont have to stand in the cold to go an smoke the killer drug.

Smelling my kids shampoo in their hair. I know it sounds silly, but I get so many more hugs from them these days and I could breathe in that kid shampoo smell for hours if they'd let me Wink

Not worrying about running into any of my friends or work associates and stinking like a cigarette!

I am more sociable and hugable...and happier now that I don't have to run to the bathroom to try and cover up the smell of smoke or avoid people who are non-smokers.

Yes....it is a good life Smile

Not having to run around the house when you leave to make sure all the butts are out. Now the only think I worry bout leaving on in the morning is my curling iron when I leave for work,

Feeling the pride of becoming a non smoker. New meaning to being free. I love the journey now that my mind is finding peace with my choice to never take another puff.

Meeting some of the most wonderful people I have ever met. There was a time I had felt the human race was losing sight of what is important in life. Love and caring about others. This journey has proved me wrong. I love it when I am not always right.

Knowing someone is always watching over us..we are never alone.

My cats won't give me that "evil look" when they're at the desk with me. Laughing Laughing Laughing

The taste you get when you light the wrong end of the cigarette. Shocked

I won't ever have to hear my husband or kids say that they wished I didn't smoke! (The best reason, family!!!!!)

Being able to put chapstick or lipstick in your purse and not get all those tobacco crumbs stuck on the cap... I hate that.

That was my 2 week gift to myself... a new purse!
