Hi all,

I just had to share this with all of you who are working so diligently on your quits. Want you all to know that the effort doesn't go unnoticed.

Received a card from our 14-year-old granddaughter today that made the tears flow freely. She wrote:

"Dear Grandma,
I am so proud of you! Smoking is a very hard thing to give
up and I admire all the willpower you have. I hope you can
keep this forever. I love you very much and I am
very proud of you.
Love,
Mikki"

So, you see, those we love are aware of the struggles we're enduring while going through our quits.

Keep those wonderful quits going. Our loved ones are watching!

Tonya & Kay -- Yes, we're very proud of our granddaughter. She's a very thoughtful young lady. I now know why she was voted "8th grade girl with the best personality." She really cares about others.

Deb - Believe me, she's going to get a hug so powerful it'll take her breath away. Can't wait. Will see her at church Sunday.

Tammy - You're so right. Receiving something as special as her note makes all this struggle so worth the effort. There's no way I'd go back to smoking now.

Jo....I loved my grandma more than anyone in the world. To this day(she has been gone a long time)there has been no greater love for me other than my children. I would have done anything to see my grandma quit smoking...in the end it killed her earlier than I was ready to see her go.

Your granddaughter is a special lady and I know intimately the love she feels for you.

How wonderful your gift is to her. There is no better.

Jo:

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it was gonna be another one of those posts about all the gas folks get when they quit smoking. Smile

Seriously, that was very sweet of your granddaughter. She must be an awful special gal.

Tom

I have been quit for 7 Months, 4 Weeks, 19 hours and 41 minutes (241 days). I have saved $906.82 by not smoking 7,254 cigarettes. I have saved 3 Weeks, 4 Days, 4 hours and 30 minutes of my life.

Dear Friends,

Many thanks for the responses to my post.

ZATKINS - So happy I was able to "lift your spirits." We all need uplifting words occasionally.

DEB - You're right. She's quite an inspiration to us.

MARIKO - Right. Guess I never realized just how important family approval and support are until I received this beautiful card.

LAURIE - I, too, adored my grandma. She was not a smoker and was not pleased that I was but pretty much loved me anyway.

TOM - You're absolutely right. She's a very special gal, at least to grandma.
