Barb - deep breaths!!
Let me see...
Hurricane Ivan - smoking won't stop it's trajectory
Husband screaming - smoking won't stop that either
Kids going crazy - smoking definitely won't stop that
I know times are tough right now, but you know that smoking will do nothing to improve the situation. If you smoke, all of those things you mentioned will still be going on, and then you'll have blown a beautiful quit and have to deal with all THAT disappointment.
Non-smokers have horribly bad days, and they don't feed an addiction. You don't need to either, because you can do this!!! _________________

Barb, I agree with Lynn.....take your deep breaths and try to stay as calm as possible. You can get through this without smoking. I'll be keeping you and yours in my thoughts and prayers. |

hey, you survived your mother-in-law's visit; you can get through this (if for no other reason than imagining how your m-i-l would gloat if you lost it...).
hang in there, Barb - there's no situation so bad that smoking won't make it worse. _________________

Yeah Barb, what's a hurricane after your mother-in-law? You've done the tough stuff the rest is cake. Speaking of, go have some cake. That's always a good idea cake. Don't smoke. What's the use. Send your husband outside with the kids and eat cake. That's what I say. Want I should send you a goat?

Barb, I know you are having a terrible day. The tension must be incredible. It is so hard to just sit and wait for something to happen you have no control over. You know smoking won't help. Take some deep breaths. Get something cold to drink. I agree with John, have some cake. I do love chocolate cake. You can do this. The crave will pass whether you smoke or not. Please hang in there. You can do this. _________________

Barb,
Please don't cave. You've been quit since June. My God Woman, you can handle it!!!!!!!! Take a deep breath....get away from hubby. Or just say to yourself, "He's just being an idiot for ranting." Laugh at him, anything to over the stress of the situation.
Drink some water, suck on a straw, anything.....just don't smoke!!!

But, you won't cave! You've come too far to go back now. And, if you do cave, remember that you have to go OUTSIDE to light up...hehe! _________________

And people are scared of earthquakes.....go figure. Barb, there is no way you are going to lose your quit over a hurricane and a cranky husband and kids.....
Do you have a CD player with a headset you can lose yourself in? Might be a good idea to crank the tunes for awhile and tune out the family. I know what you are going through is tough but smoking will just make it tougher.
Hope things get better for you soon! _________________

Hi Barb,
Sorry so late in a reply to your need for help...trying to get daughter home from Panama City...yeah she made it and so can you. Let the kids scream, hubby rant just look at them, it is hard to carry on a ranting fit or argument when only one is doing it...remove yourself if you have to go sit on the commode all night. Take your water with you and something to read.

You guys have me rolling now!! Thank you so much, you are all right about the mother in law But I did not cave, I left the hubby with the kids and went to a neighbors house to jump on her trampoline and drink a Pina Colada instead. That really helped. I think everyone is so anxious here that we all need like a huge xanax Big Gulp or something. This storm is a scary one. But like I said before I know God is protecting us. _________________

Im really late in my reply. I'm glad you didn't cave.. High 5!! My suggestion was going to be gummy worms. But that pina colada works too. I hope you all are safe!!
