you can only lose this battle if you give up, Barb, and as long as you aren't ready to give up, nobody here is going to give up on you, either.

Barb, I am sorry you lost your Quit, but I'm glad to see you have set another date. The important thing is to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start again. You know we are here for you.

Barb,
If you rode horses, you would know that sometimes we fall off, sometimes we are thrown and sometimes we just bail out...the secrect is to always get back on no matter what....the sooner the better....I am proud you decided to take another ride across that field...you know you can do this...and hey I have no intentions of giving up on you!

Hey Barb - we only fail when we quit trying...you are are in the process. You are discovering what it is that is triggering you & your backdoors. You are learning (whether you realize it or not) what your countermoves and thoughts will be for your next quit. Each time we quit, our resolve gets stronger, our reasons to continue smoking get less and less as our reasons to quit increase and begin to shift the balance.

Be gentle with yourself. Don't try to 'force' yourself to quit. Just review what is happening and work on renewing your resolve to do it again (and again, and again) as need be...you will do it! Smile

Dear Barb,

No apologies needed. You haven't let any of us down by relapsing. If anything, you've let yourself down. However, this isn't a permanent condition. I'm very pleased that you've already set another quit date and have every faith that this one's for real and for life.

Just know that I'm praying for you, as I am for all our quitting friends. It's so very worthwhile to put those terrible cigs behind us forever.
