I went for my follow up with the pulmonologist yesterday. The results of my methocholine challenge came back and I DO NOT have asthma.
I had to take another spiro yesterday (breathing test) and it still shows an obstruction on exhaling. He said that tells him that the obstruction is not in the thorax (chest cavity) but outside of it (which leaves my neck/throat). He said that could be caused by any number of things. So next on the list is a CT scan on my throat. He wants to check and make sure because I have hypothyroidism that I do not have a goiter that partially blocks my airway. He also ordered me to go in for a sleep study because it is obvious to anyone in the room with me that I have sleep apnea. He also looked at my tonsils again and said they almost touch in the middle and must come out.
I do have MILD COPD manifesting itself in slight bronchitis, but it is reversible because it is due to constant sinus drainage. Once my allergy situation is corrected (start next week on shots) and I have the sinus windows and septaplasty done it will straighten itself out and I will not have to take the Advair or Allbuterol. I may even be able to go off my Singulair as well ::feeling sparkly at that thought::
If my tonsils are what are causing the obstruction and they remove them I should be able to breathe fine again.
Yay for awesome doctors who listen ::does a booty dance:: |

Great news!
And, if it is the tonsils ~ you'll get a medal with a lion on it! (Well, I got one for bravery when I had my tonsils out when I was 3! )
Awesome, awesome for you! _________________
