One of my motivations when I first quit smoking was when my doctor told me I would soon be carrying an oxygen tank everywhere I went if I didnt quit smoking. She had told me to quit many times before but I was in total denial!! Not me!! It wouldnt happen to me. But that day I knew she was right. I could feel it. I was waking up nights having a hard time breathing!! Well... I made it!!! Im 119 DAYS quit today!! And I DID have to carry an oxygen tank anyway!! My mother in law has cancerous tumors in her lungs. I had to take her to chemotherapy yesterday. I have been taking care of her the past several days pretty much due to the lady they had sitting with her couldnt handle it. Please quitters!! Keep those quits!! I carried her oxygen and theres NO WAY Id want to carry it everywhere I went. And she is so weak now. You dont want to end up there...where she is!! It CAN happen to any of us!! Please no matter what... KEEP THOSE QUITS!!! DEB

Thanks for the post, Deb. You're so right -- "There but for the grace of God, go I." Never hurts to be reminded of how important our quits are.

Congrats on the 119 Days! And yes, we must always keep the quits! Like you, I waited a long time, after many reminders from my doc, so now I keep on reminding myself!!! You are so right!

Deb,

My main reason for quitting was because of being diagnosed with COPD. I still can appreciate the warning though because sometimes one can still forget so thank you for keeping me reminded.

Blessings,
