Well, I am not sure this is a "vent". But, I have just been told that a friend of mine paid $9 a pack in a bar to get cigarettes the other night.
Shocked Shocked Shocked

Believe me, I remember those days well. But, I certainly wish I had used $9 a pack amount for my rewards money! LOL!!! Rolling Eyes Wink

Well, thought I would share, because really....I am shocked at how far this addiction goes. Crying or Very sad

Have a great smokefree day ~ and buy something worth $9 that makes our lives better ~ like gourmet ice cream!!!!! LOL!!!

Cool

wow,

when i started smoking the whole carton was 10 dollars. that's 45 cents per cigarette. i bet there are people here who started out paying less than that per pack.

according to my quit counter at those prices i would have save almost $4,500 not smoking. you're right i would like to have that money!

wow!

since i quit, the price of newports (no generics here; only top shelf for this addict) where i live has gone from just under $5.00 a pack to almost $8.00. hey, i like the idea of increasing our rewards money to track the price hikes! what'll it be next? hmmm... Wink

If I still smoked and cigarettes hit $10.00 a pack, I'd have to start growing my own tobacco.

Problem is I don't know how I would finance the 599 other chemicals that goes into a cigarette.

Remember the list?

I was the naive schmuck who said I would quit when they got to $1.00 a pack. The first dollar packs were at DFW airport machines when they first opened up and we were amazed and said noone would ever pay it. I was paying almost $5.00 a pack when I quit. Oh well....

Well, I have finally found something great about living in Alabama...if you are a smoker that is....when I quit last year, I was paying $3.25 to 3.50 per pack or somewhere in that ball park....for once I am glad my memory fails me... Laughing Laughing

Very Happy Where I lived I was paying $14 a carton for generics when I smoked. Sine I quit all cigarettes went up $2 a carton in VA. I smoked 50 cigarettes a day so on the average I was spending about $35 a week for smokes. So now that would just have been increased by $10 more.

Blessings,

When I started smoking I paid 25 cents per pack, 30 cents if you bought them out of a vending machine.. I also said that I would never pay more than 50 cents when they went up. 3 weeks ago I was paying 3.50 per pack.....Never to high for addiction. UGHHHHHHHH....
9 dollars a pack....wow

You now pay high dollar for the addiction and then you pay high dollar for the medical expense of your addiction....Somebody is getting a profit off of this.................Plus they are getting a profit off of the sales for the NRT, HIGH price of addiction..........

Sorry I got carried off the subject.....
