I was watering my plants on the back deck yesterday morning when I felt a sting on my foot....darn fire ants I thought....oh, heck no, I was being swarmed by wasps....they covered my right foot and were all over the back of my calf... These were some real bad boys....I cannot tell how many stings I got but my right calf is 2 inches bigger than the left and my right foot is oh so swollen....talk about some fat toes . I am not in pain but cannot wear a shoe very long...
We are going out to celebrate my son's birthday...sure hope I remember to put the shoe on before the bathroom break as I will not know these people( restaurant).
Hubby said he thought someone (person) was after me by the way I was hollering and swinging my arms trying to get in the back door I know it must have been a site.....the only problem is I am slightly allergic to the little devils....needless to say, they all died!

What a terrible experience. Have you considered seeing a physician? Those allergies are nothing to fool with. _________________

I HATE all bees. I hate them. I hate them. I hate them. I am practically a vampire between mid-August thru mid-October because the damn evil yellow jackets come out. Oh, and did I mention - I hate them. Kerry |

Kay,
I have a lot of trouble with wasps in my screened in porch outside every year. They are just in the back of the house and not the front. I've been lucky not to get stung.
Hope you'll feel better soon.

I walked out of my apartment a few weeks ago and got stung on the thigh by a yellow jacket. First time in years I have been stung. You can still see the mark. My sympathies are with you because it hurt like the devil! Kerry, can you tell us how you really feel about bees? _________________

they all died due to the wasp and hornet spray I keep under the kitchen sink...when I finished spraying, the bottom of the rocking chair was dripping with the bug killer and not a one was moving
Kerry, I hate the varmits too....they just have no respect whatsoever!!!!

Kay, Fire ants are very bad and can do a lot of damage. If your leg isn't better, see a doc!
I'm allergic to insect bites also--bees especially! So far I have been blessed with butterflies in the garden this year--no bees!! _________________

I had one and only one encounter with wasps a couple of summers ago...I'd crawled out the window of the second floor bedroom and was sitting on the porch roof working hard at not falling off while scraping paint when wasps came after me...I have NO IDEA...how I got up and back through that window in about 5 seconds without breaking my neck....only one sting (and that was bad enough)..I can't image what your foot/leg feels like....get to the ER or Dr. if the swelling persists! Hope you stayed upwind of the bug spray....I can just see you waging chemical warfare and killing the rocking chair.... _________________

ok, Tonya...there is a name for you...are you in the wine again??? My blame foot is still swollen and it is hard to wear my shoes.....I just worry about what these little varmits may have been on or exposed to before biting me Today, while soaking my foot in the pool, here comes one of the little varmits floating right up to the swollen foot and NO, I did not save it!!!
Mary Dude, the bug man from the pest control was just here last week so he missed spraying that area....just wait until he calls me next month....
