Well, I've been having a hard time seeing lately, and can actually see better without my glasses than with. My vision is very poor nearsighted, and I basically needed glasses for everything in the distance.>....even to see the floor when I vacuum.
Went to the eye doc last night for an exam, my first in almost 4 years. My yes have IMRPOVED, and I'm actually much less nearsighted than I was.
Now, sometimes this happens as you age....especially to those of us over fifty. Howver, the doctor also told me that quitting smoking can help prevent glaucoma, and also as it helps the blood flow elsewhere in your body, it also improves the blood flow in your eyes.
So, here's another good reason to quit!
Oh, and I've been saving up all those rewards for a long time. Normally when I get glasses, I go for the less expensive frames to try to save money. However, this time I went with the ones I really liked at $295! I can justify the expense since it's money I would have wasted smoking, and I get something that I will be wearing every single day.
I never get tired of finding new reasons why it was so great to quit smoking! Here's looking at you, kids! _________________

I can relate...my glasses are the first thing on in the morning and the last thing off at night - they are always on my face! Progressive lenses are the new reality....need them to see far things and see the computer screen and to read! But at least I don't need three different pairs!
I do wish I could see well enough to not have to wear my glasses in the shower to shave my legs and not miss more than I get shaved!
I've my new prescription...just have to recruit someone to help me pick out the frames...
I'm glad you splurged on the frames you really like! _________________

Pamela,
That is good to know about not smoking being better for our eyes. While I have very bad eyes, when I smoke my eyes will bothers me so much more than when I don't smoke. And you gave me a wonderful idea, to get better frames the next pair of eye glasses I buy, now that I have more money from not smoking.

That is good news, and it makes sense that not smoking improves the blood flow.......
I can relate with Mary D., about the shower and glasses. I have some horror stories......In fact my husband will not let me take the razor in the shower anymore, he bought me an electric....To save me from myself, he says.......
Thank you Pamela for sharing the news, it is another benefit :

Pamela,
That is really good news!! I've had glasses most of my life, but few people know this because I don't ever wear them (except to drive, or at the theatre.) I cannot tell you how many contact lenses I have tried, too, and never could wear the darned things--got scar tissue in my eye.
Bet your frames are gorgeous! Maybe I will consider getting new frames, too, and maybe sunglasses, also! Good idea, this!
P.S. Those vacuum cleaners with lights on them help some! _________________
