|
|
Tripped over the dog, and fell into a bunch of packing boxes stacked in the dining room floor. I twisted, trying to catch myself, but there was nothing there...grabbing at air....boxes falling all around. Landed hard on my back, after first twisting my back, and twisting my ankles somehow and one wrist--it must have met the floor first--with enough force to give me whip-lash (sore neck and shoulders now), and then banged my head to a stand-still at the end. (don't know if it hit the floor or a chair leg.) Well, this would have made good slap stick comedy...but I was too addled to apprecciate it. Could not get up for a while---scary feeling....but gathered my courage finally to try...the scary part was the numbness.
But...I did get up, even drove the car...still this sucker is hurting now!!.... why must it be the week-end when my PT is not around?....well, it could have been worse.....
Oh, yes, and my fish is back....you'll notice! NOthing like a little concern for his Mama to bring him running....er, swimming..home!!
Will answer my PMs later. Got to get back on my warm heating pad! _________________

Be careful!! Hope you feel better quickly and that you didn't break anything! I hate it when I turn klutzy and wipe out. Take it easy for a while and hope the bruises aren't too bad. _________________

Oh! You all made me feel soo much better. The kindness here is always so staggering. And here I was pouting, because I had to come home from the Wedding. A friend's son got married, and I did make the church, but could not stay for the reception. Whoever thought that I might be sore from the fall....well, you were certainly right! I can hardly sit for very long at a time (or any other position.) My low back and my neck and shoulders are the most sore. I don't think anything is broken, so thank goodness for that!
Thanks for your caring thoughts.... _________________

Margaret, I am so sorry about your fall. I couldn't help laughing though thinking about the saying, "Help I have fallen and cannot get up."
I really am sorry and would not allowed a smile to cross my lips if you were not ok. Now go take care of your self.
My prayers are with you,
Sandyz

My reaction was the same as Sandy's -- "Help I've fallen and I can't get up." That's one commercial I'll probably never forget.
Now to you, my friend. Please be careful. We're not kids anymore and it takes us a little (hah, a lot ) longer to get over the bumps and bruises. How about a nice hot bubble bath? Naturally, a glass of wine would go good with that too.
Whatever, if you feel anything strange, please get to the ER or, at least, call your doc.
Take care. _________________
