I had a chance to try a yoga class....I love it! There are alot of different kinds of yoga - but my class is primarily stretching and relaxation for stress management/relief. If you have the opportunity, I recommend you try it - you might like it. It won't be the only exercising I do - but its a nice change of pace and it is relaxing but energizing at the same time. My company is offering the class - its at the end of the day in our cafeteria area. We have 30 to 40 people participating. Lots of deep breathing....

Very Happy Mary,

It sounds like you have a wonderful company to work for. The Yoga sounds great too. Thanks for the suggestion.

Blessings,

I live too far away from any Yoga class but I have been practicing home Yoga for a few years now, it has helped so much help in my quit.

I have several Yoga DVD's, and videos. I get the Yoga Journal. I agree it helps release stress, lose weight and does wonders for flexibility. No matter what health problems you have, you can follow a program specified to your needs.

I have been focusing on "Yoga for weight Loss." So far, of the 20 pounds gained from quit date, I have lost 18.

I still seem heavier and not in all the same jeans but I feel healthier.

Not smoking I am sure is part of the feeling healthier part. Very Happy

Hello all!

I also just started yoga. My employer also is providing a class, once a week for free. I've had 3 classes so far, and really enjoy it. I'm still learning to breath properly, but I'm sure if I was still smoking, instead of being able to breath deeply, I would have coughing fits instead!

My good friend SandyZ also gave me a couple of Yoga magazines while I was visiting her.

Margaret,

I wonder if the YWCA by me would offer it free. Last I heard I'd have to pay them a monthly fee to join the whole program.
