Last May, I posted about my MS walk-a-thon and my success if completing 10 miles. Last year I completed the walk in a about three hours and 15 minutes - walking at a 20 minute mile pace...
Well...a year later and almost two years quit - I walked another 10 mile MS walk today and I'm even FASTER! I finished my 10 miles in 2 hours and 25 minutes - that's about a 15 minute mile pace - for 10 miles! And this year in Pittsburgh there were HILLS! It felt SO GOOD - I was working hard - but I could!
In fact it felt SO good - I'm walking another 10 miles on Mother's Day for breast cancer and 10 miles for MS the following Sunday in Erie. We really need to find a cure for MS - its taken my little brother from me and my big brother also has MS. He's still fighting and doing ok for now (thank goodness) - but it is a cruel disease - we need a cure. _________________

Hi Mary,
That is great about being able to increase you speed. I didn't know about your brothers having MS and one passing. Sorry to hear that. I would like to do things to help others one day who are in my position.

Thank you Mary for walking John is not at that point yet he is in still finding it an embarrassment to admit he even has MS. Everyone we knows knows but he is still finding it hard to share with strangers which I find odd. He does the stuff that deals with our group but not general public as of yet. _________________

That's great, Mary! You are doing so well with your Walking! It is a meaningful thing to do also to raise money for those that need it, and to find cures for these diseases. I was with my frined today who has MS! I don't know how she does it, but she just keeps going. I know she is in pain a lot.
Good wishes for your walk!! _________________

Many thanks, Mary. Our son-in-law's Dad (a good friend of ours too) has MS.
What great progress you've made in just a year. Cutting almost a full hour off your time is awesome. You're one great quitter. _________________
