Mad I'm so mad with myself for pigging out on chocolate lately and gaining 7 pounds since my last Weigh in. I seem to be like a helpless child when it comes to being responsible for laying off the chocolate. I want to and I don't want to give up my chocolate at different times. I need to go back to my 3-D WW meetings but I'm so broke I'm in the poor house. Although, if I layed off the junk, I would have money for the meetings. So instead of losing weight I've gone the wrong way and have gained it. Crying or Very sad

Barb - I'm sorry to hear of your struggle with chocolate. You have two choices - allow some in moderation (if you can) - or go cold turkey and eliminate chocolate all together. But it come back to a choice only YOU can make. I'm lucky - I can walk away from chocolate nearly every time.

Work on that negative self talk Barbara. Listen to what you say to yourself. If you wouldn't be that critical of a good friend, then don't be that critical of yourself. Everyday is a new day for you to make different choices.

You hang in there Barbara!

Fondly,
Free

Barb, you're a strong young woman. If you can quit smoking, you can certainly lay off the chocolate. I know it's difficult; I have the same problem with chips and dip. I'm trying to treat the craving for chips and dip just as I treated the craving for cigarettes 2 1/2 years ago. Accept it for what it is and do something else to get your mind off the "goodies."

I have faith in you. You can do this.

Listen to Jo; she is right!

Another idea is to eat only a piece or two of some very expensive chocolate. Say....Godiva! I absolutely love it, but it gives me terrific Migraines....and still I want it, even knowing it will turn my Life to Hell, so that was finally how I did it. Godiva is unbelievably expensive, so I can only afford to eat a piece every now and then.

YOu will do it! Anyone that quits smoking can do anything! I'm convinced of it! Smile Smile

Hi Barbara,

I agree don't be so hard on yourself. I still battle with craves of wanting to eat too much, I just try and off set it by having an exercise program and sticking to it. I know that isn't easy either, but it keeps my mind away from day dreaming about chocolate.

Great to see you,
