~~~~ but I certainly wouldn't recommend it.
I haven't posted for some time due to a bout with viral pneumonia that just didn't want to leave me. In the process, yes, I've lost weight -- about 11 pounds -- but sure wouldn't want any of my quit buddies to lose weight in that manner. The irony of this entire thing is that my husband and I just got pneumonia shots last November but, naturally, they aren't for viral pneumonia.
While not posting recently, I have been "lurking" and reading when I felt up to crawling out of bed.
Welcome to all you newbies and a sincere apology to all longer term quitters who have had anniversaries during this time. Sorry I haven't sent congratulations your way but I'll try to do better now that I feel almost human again.
Kevin, thanks for leaving the light on. It's great to be "back home" with you and all my woofmang friends.l _________________
Thanks, all, for your care, concern and words of encouragement.
Jahunta, you're right. Pneumonia is absolutely not a "walk in the park." I'm so tired of being tired! But, this too shall pass. Thanks.
I knew you'd leave the light on, Kevin. That's always a comfort.
Thanks for the balloons, Essie. What a cheerful picture they make.
I've absolutely been living on chicken soup, Kay. Even reading some "Chicken Soup" books while resting.
I'm progressing, Mary, but this sure is a slow process. Guess if I were younger, it would go faster but sure can't do anything about that.
Again, thanks all for the well wishes. You're such an awesome group of friends. _________________
Glad you are better!!!! And, thank God you don't smoke. I once spent a long telephone conversation with a very young friend who had pneumonia. I heard her smoking (I still smoked, but could not believe it). She said she was just "shallow inhaling".
Nice to see you again!!!! _________________
Hi Jo, nice to see you back. I've been absent alot too, but I think that's part of the healing process, we've flown from the nest!
Sorry to hear about your weight loss, but I think I know where those 11 pounds went.
I've been a bad boy lately and put more than a few pounds on. I recently got a CD from a friend that is subliminal messages about weight loss.
Has anyone ever tried these subliminal recordings, what else is hidden in this recording?
It is so freakin weird!!
Excuse me, have to go sharpen my chainsaw now!
Jo, so sorry to hear about the pneumonia. Boy that is no fun! I had it twice before I quit smoking. I, too had a pneumonia shot, so I hope mine works. Like you say, I guess thay don't work on the viral version.
YOu must really take it easy with this illness, as I'm sure you know. Do NOT try to start doing things too soon! I don't mean to preach, but you could have a relapse if you do.
It took me 3 weeks to get strong again after I had it. I was just like a baby, could hardly walk about I was so tired from it. But you will regain you strength. It just takes times.
Meantime, we'll be thinking of you!
