Margaret, you've proven that prayers are answered. I could tell from your initial post that you were very troubled and close to losing it. It really frightened me -- we've come so far together. Prayers were said for you each time I've been on the boards since reading your post.

You made my week-end by posting that you've basically resolved your dilemma. Now you can move on with your life and your quit.

Stay strong, my friend. Life is good!

Scowling Demon loves to get you to believe that smoking is the only answer. But you know differently, don't you!

We all love you here. Sorry I was not on the boards when all of this was happening.

Glad to see things are looking up!

Love, Londa

Wow, thanks to all of you that came on here afterwards, too! It strengthens the Quit each time one of you is here! And thanks for the PMs.

I am still OK, so thought I should let you know, since I haven't been on the boards much.

I wasn't able to concentrate very much recently, but it has nothing to do with smoking, and that weird urge never came back! Whew! Seems as soon as I separated my problem from Laughing Demon , and saw it as not at all related, he went away! Cool Very Happy

Margaret,

Glad you're still among the smokeless and quit! Wink

It's those blasted emotions...the extreme ones that seem to do more damage to our thinking...or should I say, lack of thinking Embarassed What you found out in the process is correct. Once you acted to resolve the problem, instead of stew in it, it relieved the pressure. It's that hopelessness feeling that seems to draw the addiction's power to tempt us to light up. After all, if we are without hope, what's the use? (That's the lie, anyway!) Know this tactic all tooo well, myself, because it's the one in the past that would bring me to make the decision to throw out the quit.

It is so, so important to be aware of this one scheme....it is a deadly one!

Hugs Maragaret!!

Thanks, Deb!! You really do understand, and I appreciated your posting a lot. You described it so well. That is exactly what happens, so it is, like you said, really important, and sometimes difficult to harness the emotions when they get to that hopeless state, or an indecisive state, even if it is not about smoking, but something else entirely.....still it can bring on an urge. Being able to separate it was important for me!

HUgs and THANKS!! Very Happy
