You know,
there's no more tears
You know
this heartach will drown in beers
You know
that guy there gave a funny stare
You know
he wanted his rival team to share
You know
that bartender thought wow
You know,
her husband's gonna know now.
You know
I may be a big hearted fool
You know
I'm sorry for you for sure
You know,
I just refuse to be ignored anymore
You know,
I want you to bear in mind
You know
You can kiss my royal behind

Barb,

Expressing yourself in poetry....creative, and an avenue to let it out. Wink
Keep writing!

Very Happy Thanks all,

A good friend of mine told me tonight that I could be a writer. I haven't written since I was in high school. I had an English teacher ask me once had I ever considered being a writer but I was discouraged to become one.

Barb, you seem to love writing, and you sure seem to have great promise and talent for it. I hope you explore that further!! The written word (or even written numbers) are so lasting - unlike verbal conversation.

When Mr. Doggy and I bought our current house - which is probably our last ever house - it came with a history. We bought the house from the woman who inherited. She didn't clean up the house very well. Of course she took/sold any furnishings of value, but she was more than happy to leave us with the things she percieved as "garbage." So... we dealt with some really disgusting stuff.

BUT - in the basement, were BOXES of old pictures, newspaper clippings, business records, letters, books exchanged as gifts with inscriptions, etc. If those things - the pictures and written stuff - hadn't been left behind, we would have no idea what cool history sits right here beneath our feet every day. Their story was amazing. Starr was an integral part of building historic route 66. He had "colorful" friends and dealings in his business. Starr and Babe hosted glamorous parties - where "photo opps" of them and their guests were in the local paper. Etc. Etc. With out all that cool WRITTEN/PRINTED stuff, nobody today would have ever known. This would have been just another broken down house on today's wrong side of the tracks.

GO WRITE!!! And I hope you explore how to get published!!!

((((Barb))))

Barb, as OPRAH would say....follow your passion and it will set you free.....write as if no one was reading it and just maybe you will have a great one to come out of it...
