|
|
Can't
This morning as I've been thinking...I removed the word "can't" from my vocabulary. It's a very demeaning word...and not at all productive in any stretch of the imagination. So, from now on...it's "can"...words like difficult, hard, workable...etc, they are ok...they represent a level of effort...but the word, can't, stops a person cold, dead in their tracks and is a word that kills and destroys.
And just now as I turned to my morning devotions....for June 4th in "Daily in Christ" a devotional written by Neil T. Anderson it opens with the following....(I swear I thought of the whole can't thing first and then turned to this....God is good!)
Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1)
If You Believe You Can, You Can
If you think you are beaten--you are.
If you think you dare not--you don't.
If you want to win but think you can't,
It is almost a cinch you won't.
If you think you'll lose--you've lost.
For out in the world we find
That success begins with a fellow's will;
It's all in the state of mind.
Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the one who thinks he can.
Author is unknown it says.
So, yes, I can! Nothing is impossible with God! Amen!

Thanks Deb, I use to have that verse of the Bible taped to my wall in the computer room at the house. I think I need to put it up in my new place to read daily. _________________
