Good morning all. I am inspired today and so happy to not smoke, and what better way to continue the path to freedom's best feelings than to celebrate something special about being quit....
Seriously, I checked my quit meter this morning and was amazed to see I have now saved over $5,000.00 not smoking in just over one year. That's 5 grand I have not burned up and wasted (not to mention made myself sick with). So it feels pretty good in spite of the fact that I don't know where it all went - I'm sure I have spent most of it on things I probably would have done without in order to smoke if I were still smoking.
So here's to money saved - a great motivational tool - so how much money have you saved not smoking?
I so love not smoking !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$7,258.56!
I don't know where the bulk of it went, but I know some of it went to a few nice restaurants, "just because" gifts and a treat or 2 for myself! Whee!!

Mine says $3715.80, which is odd since I thought I used NYC prices. So, I'll double it at $7,430!!!
Mine definately went to food and wine. No doubt.
Congrats on your freedom! _________________

Wow!!!....$908.77....almost a thousand! And some of it went for a laptap, and just "other stuff" of living....(in other words, not a clue where I spent it )
But it feels good knowing the money was well spent wherever it went
And this is at the prices before the recent 50 cent tax per pack increase a month a so ago or there abouts. Probably should update the meter to reflect those changes. It could be over a thousand in that case.

According to my Quitkeeper, I've saved $7,483.47. Don't really know where it went but it's sure nice to have a few extra $$ to spend on non-essentials.
We just had gas logs installed in our fireplace (hottest day of the year)-- no more carrying wood in and cleaning out the mess after it burns. There have been other things; just can't think of them right now. _________________

I smoked mistys for a long time and if i bought them at
the cig depot they were 3 25 so that is what I entered for price.
Im hoping to get a painting at an art show in november

as a rough guess, $10,500. when i quit, my brand was about $5 a pack, and i just multiplied my days free by $5. keep in mind that this doesn't account for the extra cigarettes i'd smoke at the bar, or for the price increases since then (i think they're around $7 in new york nowadays), so it's probably closer to to $12,500.
and no, i don't know where mine went, either... _________________

at 5 dollars a pack, it looks like over $2,000.00 dollars so far.....which is incredible.....it is such an incentive for me....since I don't know where it has all gone, I know for sure I couldn't afford to start again.

I'm not really aware of having extra money, but I am conscious of how often I do not go to the ATM. It seems I was stopping almost every day to get money to buy a pack. Now that you've reminded me of that money we are saving, I think I'll go shopping at lunch. Thanks! _________________
