After today I'm not counting hours anymore! I'll stick with days, weeks and eventually months!
Not much to say about today- it has been an easy day and i'm starting to really get used to this non-smoking thing. I find that I can get through the days without much craving. I only seem to really have them during the day when I've been thinking about other things. Like I was out getting a flower bed ready to plant for an hour or 2 and then came in the house- and my mind thought it was time for a cig - but then I said " you don't smoke anymore self". It is night and especially the hour or 2 before I go to bed that are the hardest. I've been working on cross stitching a little baby bib during that time to distract me and it works pretty well to keep me occupied. Hopefully I'll be feeling confident enough to go to 2nd level patch before the full 6 weeks are up so we don't have to wait the full 10 weeks before we can start start trying to have a little baby to wear it! |

You've got a great quit going for you and, from what you wrote, you're not going to let it go. I admire your determination. Thinking about becoming pregnant is a fantastic reason for giving up those nasty weeds. Keep up the strong resolve and you'll be fine.
Also, post to the boards often. There's no way I would still be quit without all the wonderful, understanding people on these boards.

Hi Cathy,
Sounds as if you are doing great. You have a wonderful incentive to stay smoke free. You will have to post a picture of the bib when you have finished it. I quess we will have to wait a while for a baby picture. No pressure of course! _________________

Thank you!!! Yesterday was an unexpected hard day- I was starting to get a little too confident and the nicodemon came up and reminded me of his presence. I fought him off but was quite irritable most of the night. Also, our power went out in the middle of the evening- the second time in 8 days- which didn't help. Our power hasn't gone out in over a year- but now the week I quit smoking- twice in one week!!!
I finished the first bib yesterday- the front looks ok but the back is just a jumbled muck of thread. I will have to scan it when I get home tonight!
I need to figure out how to put the picture inside the post though
thanks again!

Hi Cathy,
Kevin posted how to add images to the posts in the message board tips section. I found it to be very helpful. I thank you for telling me how I can reduce them first! _________________
