Anyone heard of this or using it?
It's an antioxidant (cellular level).
My dentist,of all people, told me about it. So, I've just begun reading up on it.

I've never heard of it. Let us know what you find out, Kaye.

I'll poke around, but I've never heard of it either! Why did your dentist suggest it??
I love learning new stuff, but sometimes a little info is more dangerous than ignorance when you've got the imagination of ME! hehe, I'll share the tidbits I gather as well.

Kaye, here are a couple of different sources I just pulled out. It sounds pretty popular right now, but I would DEFINITELY talk to a Doctor about your Dentist's recommendation.

Yes, it's complicated. I'm reading at PUBMED too. My dentist mentioned it because he very young and smart and he likes to read technical stuff and because he researched it for his father who is taking it for some type of liver disease.
I guess he remembered seeing something about COPD.
From what I've read so far you don't want to just jump in and start taking (the whey protein form) without really understanding it.
But it is supposed to help boost your immune system in the way of helping the lining of your lungs fight infection. Something like that.

Pretty interesting stuff! Your dentist was suggesting it in a non-dental capacity? I'll be interested in hearing more!!
